Lack of any and everything

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 12, 2008, 12:23 AM
I love to draw, unfortunatley I sketch out a quick picture and then move on, I never finish anything. I just can't enjoy inking or coloring, so all my drawings go unfinished. A long time ago, say 97, I dreamed of owning a computer and scanner and being able to 'finish' all my pictures. Now I have that stuff coming out of my ears, yet look at my pitiful gallery.

I'd love to know how many artists actually enjoy computer coloring. Not only do I find it tedious and boring, but it seems that all others complain about it as well. I think that all of art throughout its various stages should be enjoyable. If coloring is a chore, how can oneself make themselves do it.

I also wonder about the point of finished art. When I spend twenty hours laboring on trying to finish a completed work, it just feels that the time would be better spent overcoming my artistic deficiencies. Although the main reason most of us got involved in art was to be able to create those beautiful or just plain awesome works of art that we were bombarded with during our lives. So it appears that finished art is an inevitability, regardless of if we enjoy the whole process.

Also, my inspiration to write only comes when somewhat sloshed, sad.

P.S. Don't pay any attention to that preselected--written for you-- deviantart mood BS! I would actually like to choose complacent as hell, yet it isn't there. sad face :( Yet I am ignorantly happy because I am complacent :).....

i don't know. Action, hands, feet, there are a ton. A ton of things that look great in your head yet you cannot make them work on paper. So you change them to what you can do and 90% of the time you aren't happy. So I mean I should be trying to fix that, if i can't do action, I should sketch 10 fast action, movement sketches a day. don't go for the final product in them, just the form and the energy of the movement of the body.
